How to measure your foot length
Ensuring your shoes fit perfectly starts with accurately measuring your foot length. Follow these simple steps for precise measurements.
What You’ll Need:
– A clean sheet of paper
– A flat, sturdy surface
– A pen or pencil
– A ruler or measuring tape
– Optional: A friend or family member for assistance
Step 1: Prepare the Surface
Secure the sheet of paper firmly onto a flat surface to prevent any movement while measuring.
Step 2: Position Yourself Correctly
Stand on the paper with your feet comfortably apart, distributing your weight evenly.
Step 3: Mark the Points
With your pen or pencil perpendicular to the paper, mark two points: the tip of your big toe and the outer edge of your heel.
Step 4: Record the Measurements
Once marked, step off the paper and measure the distance between the two points using your ruler or measuring tape.
Step 5: Repeat for Precision
Repeat the process for your other foot, as foot sizes can vary slightly between each foot.
Step 6: Determine Your Size
Compare both measurements and take note of the longer length. Refer to our size guide to find your perfect shoe size based on your foot length.
Helpful Tips:
- Measure your feet in the evening for the most accurate size, as they tend to swell throughout the day.
- Wear the socks you plan to wear with your shoes for a true fit.
- Keep your posture natural and avoid curling your toes during measurement for the best results.

Nike Air Max Sizing FAQs
Do Nike Air Max run big or small?
The Air Max fits true to size in a snug one-to-one way. The older releases of the Air Max fit a little bit more snug, whereas more recent Air Max 1s, you can usually go true to size. Even though some versions have a little bit less padding around the inner collar area and the toe box feels a bit more bulbous, these ran a bit more snug than recent Air Max 1.
The he longer you wear them, they’re going to break in and after a while, you won’t feel any of that pressure around the toe box area. So, you have narrow, normal, or slightly wide feet, go true to size, but if you have a really wide foot, you’d probably want to consider going up a half size.
Do Air Max Plus run small?
Most Nike shoes tend to fit true to size and the Air Max Plus is no exception, which is great. The recent Nike Air Max Plus definitely fits a little better than most other Air Max Plus’s. With this release, you won’t have to go up half a size. However, if you have wide feet, you need to be going half a size up, but compared to your regular Air Max Plus TN’s, expect these to be a bit more forgiving on feet. Some people think the sneaker runs a little bit long, but I didn’t experience that personally.

Do Nike Air Max 90 run small or big?
The Air Max 90 feels much more true to size than other Air Max 90s in the past. The Air Max 90 give you a very nice snug fit. If you’re a person that prefers a more looser fit or if you have really wide feet, you can definitely go up a half size.
Do Nike Air Max 95 run big or small?
Generally speaking, the Air Max 95 fits true to size if you like a really snug fit, but if you prefer more of a roomy fit or if you have wide feet, you’ll probably have to go up a half size. For anyone that’s already owned a pair of Air Max 95, I’d stick with that same size for this pair.
Do Nike Air Max 97 run big or small?
For some reason, despite me usually going up a half size for my Air Max 97’s, the Air Max On Air Neon Seoul specifically felt a little bit more true to size. However, there was a little bit extra space in the toe box than I would have liked.
Do Air Max 270 run narrow?
The Max 270s fit a little bit narrow and long, so you have to go down a half size for the 270. From a length perspective, they are a little bit snug across the mid-foot where the laces are. However, when you go a half size up, it’s going to be very comfortable from a width perspective, but it’s going to be a little bit long and there will be too much space in the toebox. So, if you do have wide feet, I recommend sticking with your true Air Max size. Otherwise, you probably can get away with going a half size down.
Do Nike Air Max 720 run narrow?
The 720 is a little bit snug, but it fits somewhere between true to size or half size up depending on how you want your shoes to fit. If you have slightly wide feet, you can still get away with going true to size if you wear thinner socks, but if you’re going to be wearing thicker socks, you would probably need to go a half size up.
Should I size up for Nike Air Max Plus?
The Air Max Plus runs true to size, but if you have wide feet, you might want to go a half size up for a better fit.
Are Nike Air Max Plus 3 true to size?
the Air Max Plus 3 run true to size so we recommend you grab these in your regular size.
